He joined the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 2004 and was head of the Department Multiphase Flows and Alternative Fuels at the Institute of Combustion Technology in Stuttgart, Germany for the last 10 years. Since September 2025, he is responsible for research and technology at the DLR Technology Platform for PtL fuels in Leuna, Germany. He investigates real fuels (including SAFs) production pathways, physical and chemical properties, their impact on combustion sub-processes, and the performance and emissions of\ncombustion systems.
