The Western States Section of The Combustion Institute (WSSCI) is a non-profit educational and scientific society whose purpose is to promote the science and application of combustion for the benefit of society. The 2026 Spring Technical Meeting of the Western States Section of The Combustion Institute will be held 23 – 24 March 2026 at Oregon State University in Portland, Oregon.

Extended abstracts should be at least two pages or up to five pages in length (around 1000 words) and include at least one significant figure. The abstract should highlight the results of the study to be presented at the meeting, including a brief review of relevant background and methods, key figures,and results; preliminary results are welcome and encouraged. Only electronic submissions in PDF will be accepted. Submitted papers must be written in English, must be at least two pages in length in 12-point font, must render without error using standard PDF viewing tools, must print on US letter-sized paper, and must include the author names and affiliations on the first page.

Acceptance of the abstracts for presentation will be based on soundness and completeness of the study, as presented in the extended abstract, with the expectation that the abstract is a representation of the material to be presented at the conference. To determine acceptance for presentation,only one review of the submitted abstracts by the conference organizers will be performed; there will be no chance for revision and resubmission after submission.
